Welcome to FreeOffice! FreeOffice (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") is an online document processing service provided by FreeOffice.app. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as "Terms").

Important Notice: Using the Service indicates your agreement to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the FreeOffice service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you declare that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. Service Description

2.1 Service Content

FreeOffice provides browser-based document processing services, including but not limited to:

  • Creating, editing, and saving text documents
  • Creating, editing, and saving spreadsheets
  • Creating, editing, and saving presentations
  • Importing and exporting common file formats

2.2 Privacy-First Design

FreeOffice adopts a unique privacy-first design:

  • All document processing is performed in your browser
  • Your document data is never uploaded to our servers
  • All temporary data is automatically cleared when you close the browser
  • We do not collect, store, or access your document content

2.3 Free Service

FreeOffice currently provides completely free services. We reserve the right to introduce premium features in the future, but we commit that basic document processing functions will remain permanently free.

3. Privacy & Data Security

3.1 Data Processing

In FreeOffice services:

  • Your document content is processed only on your device
  • We do not store, access, or transmit your document content
  • All document data is cleared from memory after closing browser tabs or windows

3.2 Usage Data

We may collect the following anonymous usage data to improve our services:

  • Browser type and version
  • Types of features used (such as creating new documents, exporting files, etc.)
  • Feature usage frequency and duration
  • Error reports (excluding document content)

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Legal Use

You agree to use FreeOffice only for lawful purposes and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

4.2 Prohibited Activities

When using the service, you must not:

  • Attempt to damage, interfere with, or harm the service
  • Upload or process documents containing malware or illegal content
  • Engage in any activity that may overburden our infrastructure
  • Infringe on others' intellectual property rights

4.3 Data Backup

You understand and agree that:

  • Since document processing occurs in the browser, closing the browser may result in loss of unsaved data
  • You are responsible for regularly saving and backing up your work
  • FreeOffice is not responsible for any data loss

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain all rights, ownership, and interests in all document content created or uploaded through FreeOffice. FreeOffice does not claim any ownership of your content.

5.2 Our Intellectual Property

The FreeOffice service and all its content (including but not limited to software, user interface, design, logos, and documentation) are our intellectual property or licensed for use. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part without explicit written permission.

6. Disclaimer

The FreeOffice service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we expressly disclaim any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The service will meet all your requirements
  • The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from the use of the service will be accurate or reliable
  • The quality of the service will meet your expectations

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall FreeOffice or its affiliates, directors, employees, agents, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages, or any loss of profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

In any case, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for using the service in the past 12 months (which is zero, as the service is free), or $100, whichever is greater.

8. Termination

We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to your violation of these terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. After termination, we have no obligation to maintain or provide any content to you.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated terms on this page or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the service after such changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

We encourage you to review this page regularly for the latest terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of San Francisco, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

You agree that any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be submitted to the competent courts located in San Francisco, California, USA.
